Search for "polarity question" on this site. Bob M gave me a great wring diagram for a Super H. The 300 is not too far removed from the SH, so diagram should apply. If your generator has been rebuilt, then you need to re-polorize...touch a jumper wire momentarily between the gen and bal terminals with battery hooked up and tractor not running. If it does not charge then, buy an new regulator...I have found replacing suspect parts cheaper than Monoxidil.
