M's started to come with the updated front cover some time in 1950.
It might be the same for H's. I'm not sure.
Live pump is all well and good, but keep in mind you're spending almost as much as your tractor is worth to add hydraulics to it, and that will not double the value of the tractor. Call me a cheapskate.
Don't bother with M&W pumps, or used pumps. They bring almost as much as a new IH pump, and they're usually shot. The IH pump has always been a throwaway, and you can't get parts for the M&W.
