The best way to set the rod bearings on a 20 or 30 is to keep removing the thin shims one at a time evenly until the rod gets tight on the crank when the nuts are tightened, then, put two shims back in on each side. works every time for me. Remember, always keep the same amount of shims on both sides of the rod.
