Tractors were painted red after November 1st, 1936. That date was the start of the new fiscal year for IH, and tractors produced on that date and after were identified as 1937s. That being said, tractors could be painted any color the customer wanted, and it is known that some West Coast dealers were receiving red tractors well before the official change.
