Well, here is what may be happening with your clutch.. Sounds like the release bearing may be the Carbon type bearing like is in the cub.. If so, the bearing is probably worn beyond use, and there may be a possibility that the clutch fingers are being worn away.. I would suggest that if this is so, you need to replace the pressure plate assy, driven disk, and release bearing.. The carbon type bearing for the C runs around $125, but you can buy a thrust ball bearing carrier from a salvage yard, and a new ball type throwout bearing for about 1/3 the cost of the carbon bearing..
