I also have 15.5 on a SMTA. The rims are new and 14" wide. You will probably have to weld the block keys on the rim to prevent rotation and resulting stem shear.
Don't expect to pull much more than 5" stumps. Beware of slippery stumps where the bark and chain slide off the end at high velocity. This would include willows and walnut varieties such as black and butternut. I am sure there are others as well. Elm comes to mind.
