In an earlier post there were a lot of suggestions on how to free a stuck engine, and I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of or tried this one. About 30 years ago, when my dad was still working in street maintenance, they had a 51 Ford truck for a sand spreader. Over one summer the engine stuck. He tried everything he could think of to free it, oil, diesel etc. Nothing worked. Then someone told him to try filling the cylinders with Coca-Cola. With nothing to lose, he removed the spark plugs and filled it up with the Coke. After a few weeks, the engine was free. It burned a lot of oil for a while, but it eventually stopped. I don't know that the sugar in the Cokle is the best thing for an engine, but it didn't seem to hurt this one!!
