Shawn in P.A. hit the nail on the head about mounted and trailing plowes. I grew up on a farm where dad and uncle used two H's, one M and a Massey Ferguson 50. The MF 50 had more hp than the Farmall H and would pull 2-14 mounted plows better than the 2-14 pull type plows used with the H. Now put the pull plows on the drawbar of the MF 50 or a pull type disc and it could not do it like the H. Dad's cousin had a SC back years ago when I was a kid and had a 2-12 mounted plow and pulled a 6ft disc with it. Dad used 2-14 pull plow with his H's and pull them most of the time in 2rd gear and the SC moved a lot slower than the H. also we used a IH 7ft disc behind the H and I don't think the SC would pull 7ft in loose dirt on the drawbar.
