TA adjustment won't bother you while not running as far as shifting into or out of gear. Worn out or messed up shift lever and rails could or bearing out of transmisson top shaft. TA adjustment amounts to , free play on direct drive clutch of about 1/8th to 3/16th inch movement of TA release shaft and then adjust link between clutch and TA so it moves immediately when pushing clutch pedal and releases ta same amount as pulling ta lever. What you are trying to acomplish is full release of the 7 inch dry direct drive clutch so planet gears can revolve freely and allow rollback of transmission gears to relieve tension of load.
