Marvin - Try you 12 volt timing light on 6 volts. I found my 12 volt light (an old Mac) works fine on 6 volts. But if yours doesn't, you could power the light off a 12 volt vehicle as you suggest. If you find the light doesn't flash connect the 12 volt vehicle frame to the Super A frame with a jumper cable (to ground everything together).

I'm not familiar with the A/C series tractors - cannot offer advice on timing mark location and specs....
