Were steel wheels an option on H's or was this something they did when rubber was scarce during the war? I always wondered about this, the first tractor my Dad had was an H. We traded it because the motor was worn out and didn't have hydraulics, when I was about 7 years old. We have a picture of it, it had rubber wheels but the wheel centres were spoked, not cast. I have never seen anything but cast wheel centres on an H. My mother thought the previous owner had converted it from steel to rubber. Would the front wheels have been steel as well originally? As to your question, I suspect the steel wheels are worth something to a collector, since a lot of older tractors that came with steel wheels had them cut off to put on rims and rubber. I suspect mom is right, that's what happened to our old H. Freddy
