If the tractor starts and runs out good, there is money to be made. Couple things I do when looking at tractors. First and foremost I feel of the block when I get there to see of it has been warmed up before I got there. A pre-warmed tractor is a red flag to me. You can learn so much more about an engine by starting it cold as opposed to warm. Other thing with it being stone cold, is that you can crack the oil drain plug to see if there is any anti-freeze sitting on the bottom of the pan. Not a fail safe method of checking, but better than nothing.
