Farmall MD's were made from 1941 until 1952 when they went to super MD, 400D, and finally 450D all with about the same engine. Depending on the condition, they can sell for a few hundred dollars to several thousand. I think there were only about 15,000 made. I just finished completely restoring a 1949 MD. I discovered that engine rebuilding can get quite expensive depending on how much you do. Also, some parts are no longer available for the engine and your friend will have to find either good used parts or find someone who still has or rebuilds parts. It certainly is an interesting tractor with the gasoline start and run on diesel. Roger
