I've done this several times, pull the plugs, find the fouled one, pull the pan and head, use a putty knife to remove the head, the gasket is a sandwich type gasket[ 3 pieces] pull the piston, the rings will probally be stuck to the piston,[ you should be able to look at the cylinder and see where the rings are collapsed by the wear on the cyl] ,go to a real auto\ truck supply, get a set of rings for 1 cyl, a tube of RTV sealer[ red or black] and a can of wheel bearing grease.. Remove the rings, break one of the old rings use it to remove all the carbon in the piston[ scrape till u see aluminum.. Stagger the ring gaps oil and install,, If the rod bearing is down to brass, I would replace all the rod brngs [4] with .003 oversize bearings.. Remove the lower plate of the oil pump, sand it on a flat surface and put a 1\4" nut in the bypass spring to add a little pump pressure.. I expect to hear some flack on this repair, but have been broke before but I was still riding. I did this on a 58 ford pu and drove it for 3 yrs. How about it ITF, got any thing to add?? Forgot about the head gasket., coat both sides with the grease, do not scrape the head or block, retorqe to specs with a grunt, run 2-3 hrs retorque....

Flax provided the fibre which w
