Im all for using stored battery energy to run horsepower robbing water pumps and fans while pulling versus using precious engine HP to do so. I wouldnt even be using engine power to run the genny or alternator while pulling, a battery can easily run the fan and pump water for a short pull. 12 VDC RV water pumps can supply something like 5 GPM at 30 PSI while a 12 VDC electric fan supples all the air needed through the radiator.
Go for it, unless you like wasting engine HP when its not needed.....
