And I will add, like many including me,have said many times, it indeed does have a distributor and distributor cap and the correct name for what everyone calls a distributor iginiton is battery ignition. So, you have a magneto with a distributor or a battery ignition unit with a distributor. Some engines do not have a distributor, such as a single cyl for example or several two cyl engines that fire on both exhaust and comp stroke. Onan and Kohler come to mind and they are battery ignition.
