Thanks, it's been 38 years since I changed the wheels on our pair of 706D's, seemed like the clamping arrangement was different. Are they "adaptable", given the proper tools, I have a pretty complete shop and we "adapt" car wheels all the time, remove classic centers and add wider rims, etc. The tires are 15.5-38's on the proper width rims and I'd love to use the wider rims if possible, and the rims appear to be in great shape. I have a Bridgeport and could make or modify some clamps if it'll fit together. I'm even toying with the idea of making a two-piece bushing arrangement to fit around the early axle to adapt it to the later centers- but I'd rather keep the look of the original SMD centers. Funny how things look different when you have a Bridgeport and a big South Bend in the shop, "can't fit" sometimes becomes a fun project... Anybody adapted them successfully? Are the centers the same overall diameter (or close enough), '06 and M 38 inchers? Thanks
