I would agree with mkirsch, at least get a parts catalog or call a older established CaseIH dealer & ask for copies from computer or copy from parts catalog, I doubt if adjustment will fix the problem, sounds like a worn fork or spline, this particular tractor was very well engineered, I delivered a new one to the city where I lived in the mid 60s, this gives you a clue of my age & also the tractor, IH back then, 3414 was a B414 with Construction Division loader and frame + front axle + hydra-shuttle transmission with fast reverser pedals, IH Construction (CE) also made a 3514 (504 INTERNATIONAL) & 3616 (606) same design, heavier, tractors & bigger engines, now Komatsu.
