There is an oil seal at the bottom of the gear case, just below the bushing. It is a royal pain to install a new seal. I replaced that seal on my M, filled the gear case up with 80-90 gear oil and it all leaked out after a few weeks, so I just crammed it full of grease. Corn head grease is a good choice for this, it is a heavy, sticky grease.
