IF THE WORM AND THE GEAR ARE WORN YOU ARE IN TROUBLE TAKE THE ASSY APART IF THE WORM AND THE GEAR HAVE TO MUCH CLEARENCE BETWEEN THEM THAT IS THE TROUBLE A NEW WORM ON THE STEERING SHAFT WILL FIX THE PROBLEM THEREN IS NO adjustment possible get a new worm on the shaft or have one made check the gear to see if it is worn in the middle of the travel a good machine shop can make a new worm check the shaft out of the housing there is a bushing that can be worn
