Red, we've taken the axle out of an H without taking the deck off. We blocked it up, drained it, removed the wheel assembly, removed the pto, and took the bolt out of the inside of the axle. Then slid the axle housing and axle out of the tractor to replace the axle bearings. Putting the axle back this way requires patience, and a second set of hands. Three of us did the whole thing in about 3 hours. A good trouble light inside the rear end is a big help. Don't break the bulb while it's in there!
