484virgin Most of the newer IH tractors had less than perfect shifting linkages. As you spend more time on your 484, you will be able shift the transmission with minimal effort. In regard to location, values of tractors vary with location, demand and availability. In row crop farming areas, smaller tractors are less prevelant and will command a higher price. As The Red says, in Farmall-infested Indiana, price are relatively low for Farmalls. In California, the same conditions exist for old Farmalls in the San Joaquin valley, and bargins abound for the old row-crop Farmalls. Under 100 HP tractors are very prevelent in our permanent-crop areas, so smaller tractor prices are reasonable. Sounds like you purchased a very useful piece of equipment. Good luck. Ray
