I use 3M weatherstrip adhesive to glue the gasket firmly to the valve cover. This asures that the gasket stays in place and usually is leak free. For the trouble leakers I put a thin layer of high temp. silicone sealer on the head side of the gasket. It stays firmly hooked to the valve cover but will still come off the head when you need it to come loose without destroying the gasket.
