TSC has a few different types of hydraulic oil. Read the labels. You want the one that says it's Hytran compatible.
"Develops too high a pressure" is just silly talk. Pressure is a function of the pump, not the oil. If it developed too high a pressure you have a blockage in the system before the relief valve.
The seal was just ready to let go. Maybe the air bubble in the lines was the straw that broke the camel's back, as it were, but there's no use in fretting about it. It would've blown sooner or later, but probably sooner.
