Need help big time, got a show and pull this week end and my M is boiling mad. Idles for a long time OK but boils over violently under load like coming up a hill in hi gear. Blows the water out the cap big time. Pulled valve cover and there was the usual gunky build up of foamy stuff on the cover but no water in oil at all. Manifold and muffler both were VERY EXTREMELY hot. Read the forum on overheating Farmalls and looks like I start with the t-stat, radiator, water pump, check timing, carbuerator settings, and go from there. No white smoke in the exhaust so I don't think it's a head gasket, I hope not anyway. I just bought this tractor in Iowa and am not sure of it's past history. The tractor other than that is in very good condition. Any ideas?
