This strikes a chord Brownie 450! My 444 was making a noise in the trans that did not sound good, but I was too stressed to deal with it, so used the tractor a while longer for odd jobs. Until the bull gear had chewed through the casing and the oil started leaking out. I cleaned and patched the spot with an epoxy that a person in the know recommended, but it still leaks. In this case it was also the inner axle bearing that had collapsed.
