All that tells you is, there's no "exact right" anything, and it's really not all that important.
Farmer A says 321 spark plugs are the best. He has never had a problem with them and his tractors seem to run better.
Farmer B says 123 spark plugs are the best. He has never had a problem with them and his tractors seem to run better.
...and on and on, ad nauseum.
What this tells you is that you could use 123 spark plugs, 321 spark plugs, or any of the others mentioned.
The problem is that people feel obligated to defend their position with the ferocity of a rabid boll weevil in heat, and they'll come up with any cockamaime "logic" to justify their position.
