Well as far as i care anymore i will tell you this on the oil thing on the later gas engines unless ya like to eat valves you had best run the low ash . As for usen a 10-30 in a tractor hey it is your check book. And if you all knew it all about tractors then you would not be asking people like me that do know tractors and engines and have made our living and our life learning this stuff . myself i am coming up on 64 years old and have been working on engines for the last 50 years from mild to wild from Ma and Pa grocery getter to lets get down the track , from the drag strip to the tractor pulling track from the garden to the field . . Now since i am still learning i do not know it all but what i do know i am and expert on . When i do not know i go looking for the answers else where from other experts . Not the guy that thinks he knows . Oils and fuels i have learned over the years THE HARD WAY . So if Case I H or Farmall or I H says to run this then that is what we run BECAUSE they have done the testing to figure out what went wrong as the problem has already showen up way before you got the bright idea that OH it would be so neat to fix up and old tractor and get in over your head and then come on here looking for someone to bail you out . I am semi retired now but i still take care of a bunch of old iron for good friends and old customers that is still being used each and everyday for what they were meant to do and that is work not being a trailer queen or a play toy . And ya know what they get what the book calls for . One is a S/MTA that was bought new on the same farm and is on it's first overhaul with a total of over 22000 hrs on the tractor. My rag 806 is coming up on 11000 hrs and the head has never been off and got it's first valve adjustment at 8500 hrs. and it runs what the book calls for .
