I need some help! My 53 super m will not make any sound when I push the starter button. It was running 2 days ago shredding, but had a bad battery-"red top optima; "-no warranty after 3 years-"...The following parts were added:
1 new battery
2 new alternator
3 new push start switch
4 new points,condenser,rotor.
5 new coil w/out internal resistor, but added in-line resistor-hooked it to + side going into coil.
6 Tried to start it by pulling with pickup, but did not fire.
...Do you think it's the on/off switch ?
...Or what ?
...Update Monday, no luck yet.
...Took starter off and will have it checked tomorrow.
