I have a IH 544 that I am having problems getting to start after I had the motor rebuilt. The carburetor seems to be flooding its self out. The tractor will not fire. I am getting good spark on at the plugs and it does fire but won"t stay running when I spray carburetor cleaner or starter fluid in the intake. The governor is not hooked up and I can flip the throttle on the carburetor but it still won"t fire. I had the old carburetor rebuilt and nothing. I just placed on a newer carburetor a friend gave me and nothing. There is an electric fuel pump hooked up to this and from what I understand that is not original. I was told since this has a intake/exhaust manifold it was originally gravity or vacuum feed. I would like to how to get the carburetor to stop flooding itself out and if someone has pictures what the original fuel system looked liked and how it worked? I have included pictures of fuel system and carburetor. Many thanks to all who can help me here. I have been trying to get this tractor running for over a year now. Also I would like to know if it is ok for me to cut the choke cable to fit properly? Even with old carburetor it was about 16 to long and most was shoved up under the dashboard.
