No, only 1 wire goes to the F on generator and with your regulator it would be from F on regulator. The regulator is automatic so we give it priority.
You could either completley remove the gray wire from the L on regulator, or disconnect the short red ended wire which now connects on the ammeter with the green wire and connect this red wire to the L terminal. This is the wire that feeds the light circuit.
Then the regulator will automatically control generator output and you would use the switch for lights only.
The switch had the light section and the Hi-Lo generator section. They switched together but were separate systems so there is no problem switching just the lights with the switch.
