just a thought, have you ever greased the pilot bearing? the flywheel should be drilled for a zerk fitting. on the m (should be the same for the h) you rotate the engine around, there will be two timing notches close together, and then one all by itself. line the single one up with the pointer and then look up into the drain hole on the bottom of the bell housing. you should see the zerk ther. give it 2-3 pumps of grease, not too much or it will leak out on the clutch disk. if you dont have a single notch, have a helper slowly hand crank the motor around and peek up thru the hole with a flash light to find the zerk.
