See if you have a good spark at the spark plug while having a friend crank it over.
If no spark check for 12 volts at the coil and look at ignition...
If good spark remove the fuel line at the carb and check fuel flow. (also look at inlet filter where the line connects, it could have a piece of rust, rubber..)
If good flow I try a small amount of starting fluid in two cylinders and look at the plugs att the same time - if the look wet or bad try new plugs. If it starts and cuts off you probably have a fuel/carb problem. (my 140 once had an intake bolt that backed out, would only run with the choke on full. Took me a while to figure that one out)
