I overhauled my s-c engine , and put in a new clutch but reused the pressure plate. After reassembling the clutch does not disengage all of the way causing grinding when trying to go into any gear. I adjusted the pressure plate as far as it would go through the hand hole cover, And it is improved but still not right. I plan on having flywheel machined this time and I have the new pressure plate.Question is do I need to check the new pressure plate adjustment , Or is it safe to assume they are adjusted correctly out of the box ? I bought the pressure plate from this site. Clutch was never a problem before, But I assume that the problem was due to the new clutch lining being much thicker than the old worn out one. Thanks in advance for your help !
