I can't tell you anything about the pickup attachments to which you refer but you do bring up an interesting discussion topic. Dad worked out a lot in my early years doing a lot of farm work including feeding a stationary hay press (balers they were called here). He once spoke of seeing a baler with a pickup but still a manual tie. Over the years questions would pop into my mind about how the whole process took place. The big question was about the tie and backwire guys. Did they ride or walk along side? How did they retrieve the tie blocks if they were riding? Were the machines horse or tractor drawn? Has anyone here seen one of these balers in operation?
