The serial Number split is 228082 and up have the correct bolt pattern and better gears for a IH OEM pump. The older tractors can (and often do) have cam gear failures when used with the pump. The best gears are from 400 and 450s. They are stout. The front casting needs to come off and the radiator removed to replace the front cover if your serial is lower. It is a mid 1950 number. Jim
