I replace all double battery setups on my various farm equipment with one larger battery. The 60 to 80 HP tractors have a Groupe 31 battery installed. The larger engines have a 4D battery. The only problem is on my IHC 1566. I still use 2 long 6 volt batteries because the larger 4D will not fit without extensive modifications. As the previous posts have suggested, always buy a quality battery. Sometimes the discount stores will charge more for a quality battery than the battery stores. NAPA carries a good line of batteries.
