Just to fill in the gap if it is a magneto. Teh mag needs to be removed to replace the condenser on a mag.
You can see it if you remove the top cap on the mag. And the ground wire )or, on the early ones) the grounsing mech) is held down onto the threaded end of the termial on the condenser. Unfortunately, it does't come out in that direction. You have to pull the mag off the tractor, remove the cover on the back/motor side, and pull it out that way, after loosening the simple tension clamp, which is accessible with the top cap off.
If you have a magneto, I'd sure try a set of good cleanl, properly adjusted points before pulling the mag to change the condenser.
