Don't know for sure on the 424. You'll have to look but there should be a u-shaped pipe bolted to the exhaust manifold. If so then a upright pipe can be made to work if you can't find the right part. But, you have to cut a hole in the hood. The only time I don't like an underneath exhaust is when I'm adjusting something behind the tractor that takes more than a couple of minutes -- exhaust smoke. You might look at the parts search on www.caseih.com, provided they include the 424/444.
