As mentioned an Autolite 388 is hotter then the 386 but a 3116 is similar in heat range but a NON RESISTOR PLUG. Other things to reduce oil fouling are to use shutters or curtains thermostats etc to keep the temp up to 180 and over,,,,,,,,dont run the carb any richer then necessary,,,,,,,,avoid long idle periods,,,,,,,,use wire core plug wires,,,,,,,keep the ignition well tuned. I believe Champion (UD designation???) makes some of the spark intensifier plugs that have the extra added artificial gap for severe oil burner tractors.
