We pondered trying to use it, but I'm afraid there will be quite a few hours of work on those moldboards before it would ever shed. We havent gotten that far yet.

You'll be alright. I used a 4.5" grinder with the wire cup wheel on my three bottom and it was useable within 30 min. I still had a few spots that caught, but the overall thing was good. When I was in the field I used a long handled grill scraper to scrape the film off at the end of the row to keep/get it scouring. It was perfect after the 2 acres I plowed.
