I also think it was (originally) a grain drill. The chains hanging from the rear lift towers each are fitted with a 3" ring! Those chains were used as soil mixers dragging behind the drill. I remember bunching them up into groups of 6 or so and wiring them to a small square bar in the back to keep them up while on the road. Jim
