The alternator output wire (big) should go to the amp meter. If the system is now Negative ground, it will need to have the leads reversed on the amp meter. Attach the Wire to the side of the meter not connected to the wire going to the battery cable at the starter switch. If a 3 wire setup, a momentary contact switch is needed in the #1 terminal wire to excite the alternator.(or a hot wire going to a oil pressure switch (normally open switch from NAPA) that allows exciting voltage to #1 terminal. The #2 terminal goes directly to the big post on the alternator, a 6" wire. Jim
