I can't tell you by nut and terminal where to connect the wire but I can tell you electrically how it goes. The amp meter is a series device, that is, it is in series with (in one side and out the other of the meter), the charge lead. The charge lead is the lead fron the big terminal on the alternator to where-so-ever and finally ends at the battery terminal. I'm wondering why you had no amp meter? If you are doing a generator to alternater conversion It's a lot deeper subject. Hang in there you will get help. Good luck, Sam
