Myself i think it about 2000 to high as to the starter ????????? don't know i did not hear it . The 666 is and Ok tractor . The biggie on them is the shifter as if you think a 06 series shifter can give you fits the shifter on the 656 -the 686 can be a real pain in the drain . the hours are high on it , and you do not know the history of it . If it is not a local tractor then i bet i can tell you where it came from . and they sure did not pay that price for it . There is one in the Farm World paper in Ky for 7500 with as they say a good T/A and almost new tire and the Phone # is 502-268-5566.There is lso a 856 with a 2000 I H loader in Ill. for 6000 now that is not to bad of a price if it is half decent . I do not know what your plans are for the tractor and i will never tell a man what tractor he needs . But i will tell you this never panic buy . As to the starter on that tractor it my just need a bendix or it may need a rebuilt starter and a new ring gear. If your luck is like mine it need both .
