Your best way to tell if a major part of the tractor such as the engine block has been changed is to look at the casting codes. Every major component has a marking that will look like a screw head followed by two numbers and a letter and another screw head. These indicate the day, month, and year (in that order). The letter code that indicates the year is Y for 1953, and Z for 1954. Check your tractor, the dates will probably span a period of several months and the engine will likely be the newest. Sam
