Is it dieing a slow death like starving for fuel or is it stopping suddenly like the switch was cut off?? If its sputtering out, Bill could be on to something about the fuel line. I had a '62 Ford pickup die like this and it turned out the fuel line itself was the problem. Crap and crud was slowing down the fuel flow. Take the fule line off at the carb and check the flow. Keep us posted.
