Its been along time since I fixed the oil leak my H pto but I think it was simply removing the 2 bolts that hold the cap around the shaft and pulling it off. I don't recall if I had to lower the level of the transmission oil. You'll need a seal and a gasket to put it back. I can't remember if there is another gasket on the unit that could leak but you can easily tell by looking at it.
