Just a note: the original governor on this tractor has had a variable-governor fitted to it. IHC made retrofit kids, and so did some outside suppliers of parts. The long rod running to the steering wheel from under the gas tank gives this away. This is not a bad thing, by any means. The original governor really worked only when the throttle lever was in wide-open position. IHC fitted variable-governors to the tractors with this type engine, but I don't have a date--about 1937, I think. I owned an F-20 a few years ago that had the IHC retrofit kit. They did a clever job of making an outfit that could be put on the older tractors, right in the original governor housing.
