The F8 is used up through the TD14, with only minor differences. Over the years there were a few changes to the throttle plate design. Even the 18 uses the same bowl and float parts. They are easily cleaned. The main problem area is in the fuel line attachment and just inside where the fuel turns upward to the needle. That little cavity can sure collect some crap.
Also, if cleanliness is maintained, injectors are not hard to take apart and clean. Reassemble with anti-seize on the crush rings. Sending them off means they will get pressure tested and that is usually needed.
